DevOps Engineer- On-premises Platform

Role overview A hands-on software engineering role on the product platform team for an on-premises network management virtual appliance. The work sits at the intersection of Python and TypeScript development, Linux, packaging, containers, CI/CD, and developer experience, focusing on evolving a monolithic application toward modular services, modernizing deployment from Debian packages toward containers, and improving build and testing pipelines.

Responsibilities - Build and improve product platform components and tooling in Python and TypeScript - Help evolve the application from a monolithic structure toward cleaner modules or services - Contribute to the design and implementation of a next-generation deployment model, including migration from Debian package-based deployment toward a container-based approach - Build, improve, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and build/testing infrastructure - Make local product development easier and more reliable - Work with Kubernetes and containerized workloads - Troubleshoot issues across application, runtime, container, Linux, and CI/CD boundaries - Apply sound testing, maintainability, and observability practices, including software hardening where appropriate

Requirements - Strong GNU/Linux fundamentals - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Hands-on experience with containers and practical Kubernetes knowledge (or strong relevant fundamentals) - Experience building, maintaining, or improving CI/CD pipelines - Software development experience in Python and/or TypeScript - Understanding of modern software engineering practices including testing and version control - Strong written and verbal English communication - Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote engineering team - EU citizenship or other eligibility to work in the EU

Nice to have - Experience with both Python and TypeScript, plus familiarity with the Node.js runtime - Background modernizing application deployment or migrating workloads toward containers - Experience decomposing monolithic applications - Developer tooling or Developer Experience work - Build systems and testing infrastructure experience - Software hardening or application/platform security experience - Performance or reliability improvement work on product platforms
