About this role

Role overview A Principal Solutions Architect is sought to define how enterprise, service-provider, and government networks become quantum-safe. The role blends customer-facing architecture work with internal design authority: leading migration workshops on real networks, then turning field learnings into reusable reference architectures, standards contributions, and product requirements. It is a technical-authority position rather than a software ownership role, focused on designs, decisions, and external credibility in post-quantum networking.

Responsibilities - Design quantum-safe target architectures and migration paths spanning WAN, transport, data center, campus, segmentation, key management, and underlying cryptography. - Lead technical discovery and architecture workshops with network, security, and infrastructure teams to assess cryptographic exposure and produce executable migration plans. - Own the technical thread in complex pursuits: proposals, RFI/RFP responses, compliance answers, and competitive positioning in partnership with sales engineering. - Design and run proofs of concept and interoperability tests, including PQC and hybrid key exchange in production-representative environments. - Track and contribute to standards bodies (NIST, IETF) and regulatory mandates, feeding forward-looking constraints back into product requirements. - Deliver thought leadership through talks, white papers, and blogs while mentoring the broader architecture team.

Requirements - 15+ years designing and securing enterprise or service-provider networks in solutions architecture, network architecture, or senior customer-facing engineering roles. - Deep, hands-on knowledge of routing, switching, IP transport, segmentation, firewall and access control design, VPN, and Zero Trust applied to real infrastructure, with multi-vendor experience (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Nokia). - Working applied knowledge of TLS, IPsec, MACsec, PKI lifecycle, key management, and how algorithm choices change in practice. - Demonstrated credibility in front of customers at multiple levels, from engineering workshops to CISO-level risk conversations. - Grounding in post-quantum cryptography, crypto-agility, and quantum key distribution sufficient to lead early migration engagements.

Nice to have - Public speaking, standards participation, or published reference architectures in the security or networking community. - Light scripting ability to support proofs of concept and integration testing.

Benefits and work setup - US-based with up to 30% domestic and international travel; onsite, hybrid, or fully remote work arrangements supported. - Export-control and citizenship requirements may apply given the technical scope of the role.
