Design Engineer

Role overview

This is a remote-first Design Engineer role embedded with a mixed team of engineers and designers, contributing to generative AI products, internal technologies, and client-facing projects. The position is well suited to a design-minded tinkerer, whether a designer who can write code or a developer with a strong sense of design, who enjoys prototyping and exploring emerging tools. Occasional in-person retreats are part of the culture, and team members are welcome to use offices in Turku and Helsinki.

Responsibilities

- Build front-end interfaces and experiences for new generative AI products and client deliverables - Lead concept design work, framing ambiguous problems and shaping solution directions - Prototype interactions quickly and iterate as new technologies and tools emerge - Collaborate closely with engineers and designers across active product development streams

Requirements

- A strong eye for high-quality UX and UI craft - Conceptual thinking capability, moving from problem statement to design direction - Professional front-end development experience with React and TypeScript - Genuine interest in generative AI and automation

Nice to have

- Hands-on experience with generative AI or machine learning workflows - Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
