About this role
Role overview Build and maintain the internal platforms that power audience targeting and end-to-end CRM campaign execution for marketers and retailers on a large e-commerce ecosystem. The role blends scalable systems engineering with data pipeline work, focusing on rapid feature rollout and high-performance targeting infrastructure.
Responsibilities - Develop highly scalable software using modern computer science principles, with protocols that enable fast, safe rollouts - Design and implement targeting features that combine demographic, intent, and behavioral signals for strategic growth - Build intuitive user interfaces for configuring offers, audience segments, and campaign content - Analyze and optimize expensive SQL queries against large data sets - Build large-scale data pipelines and model user data to improve accuracy and platform performance - Run ongoing testing, diagnosis, and performance analysis of production systems - Determine design solutions to problematic programming and drive engineering improvements
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent); in lieu of the degree, four years of relevant experience including two years with each required special skill is accepted - At least 2 years working with Java, Ruby, Python, or comparable programming languages - At least 2 years working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems - At least 2 years working with client/server and application architectures - At least 2 years working on distributed codebases with cross-functional teams - At least 2 years with data streaming and big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Hadoop, or similar - At least 2 years of data engineering experience building robust pipelines, optimizing schemas, and ensuring data quality
Benefits and work setup - Remote role open to candidates anywhere in the continental United States; new-hire equity grant plus annual refresh grants; published base pay range of $191,000–$212,000 USD
