Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead the design and operation of financial data infrastructure supporting accounting, billing, revenue operations, financial close, invoicing, and internal and external reporting. This senior individual-contributor role offers substantial ownership in a small team: you will shape data strategy, build dependable integration pipelines and models, and partner closely with finance stakeholders from initial design through production delivery.
Responsibilities
- Translate finance, accounting, billing, and revenue-team needs into scalable, self-service data products. - Own critical data pipelines and financial data models, emphasizing consistency, accuracy, timeliness, auditability, and reliability. - Drive initiatives across architecture, technical decisions, project planning, implementation, and ongoing operation. - Establish standards for modeling complex financial data and help define the broader financial data roadmap. - Mentor teammates and promote strong engineering practices across the organization. - Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements, design shared datasets, and balance urgency with maintainable delivery.
Requirements
- At least eight years of data or software engineering experience, including substantial work building financial data pipelines. - Expert SQL and dbt skills, with strong data-modeling experience for complex, scalable datasets. - Production experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery. - Strong knowledge of data-infrastructure technologies including Python, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, or Delta Lake. - Experience building complex ETL/ELT workflows for accounting, billing, or related financial processes. - Understanding of immutable and auditable data, slowly changing dimensions, or comparable data-governance patterns.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow together in production. - Experience supporting SOX-controlled data systems.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote, flexible work model allowing work from home, an office, or another suitable location, with regular in-person connection opportunities. - U.S. base salary varies by work location, with listed ranges from $183,000–$193,000 in many states to $220,000–$232,000 in selected higher-cost locations. - Role may include an equity grant at hire and annual refresh grants, alongside location-specific benefits.
