Role overview Join the analytics team supporting platform excellence operations for a large online grocery marketplace. The role focuses on diagnosing fulfillment quality gaps, building proactive monitoring, and delivering data-driven recommendations that improve products and processes for customers, shoppers, and retailers.
Responsibilities - Monitor and resolve retailer performance issues across broad dimensions, building dashboards and processes that simplify problem diagnosis and support new retailer launches. - Track and analyze fluctuations and outliers in key fulfillment quality metrics to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. - Analyze large datasets related to retailer fulfillment quality, creating and executing analytical plans to reduce quality issues with high accuracy. - Support analytics requests, ad hoc retailer analyses, launch impact assessments, retailer escalations, and initiative sizing for product and analytical roadmaps. - Create and present insights decks regularly to cross-functional audiences of business and technical stakeholders, framing findings as clear narratives backed by data.
Requirements - 1+ years of experience in a data analytics-related role such as business intelligence, corporate strategy, consulting, or data science. - Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis. - Experience analyzing and visualizing large datasets, with the ability to aggregate and synthesize data at micro and macro levels. - Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail; able to detect anomalies, form hypotheses, and draw conclusions through nuanced analysis. - Proficiency in PowerPoint or Google Slides for effective communication. - Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and comfort proposing new ideas.
Nice to have - Experience in a consumer marketplace or logistics business. - Familiarity with Snowflake or similar data warehouses, GitHub, and Jira. - Experience with visualization tools such as Mode or Tableau. - Experience working directly with product and engineering teams on scalable process solutions. - Experience using AI tools for analytics, including methods for data validation and reproducibility.
Benefits and work setup - Remote position with hiring limited to candidates based in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. - Market-competitive compensation with a Canadian base pay range of $81,000 to $85,500 CAD, plus eligibility for a new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
