Colorist (Video Production)

Role overview

A contract colorist role supporting an international post-production team on a pay-per-project basis. The work centers on immersive and video projects, collaborating with editors to elevate footage through precise color correction and grading that aligns with the creative vision of each piece. It is a fully remote role suited to someone who cares deeply about visual storytelling within the immersive media space.

Responsibilities

- Perform precise color correction and grading to establish mood, tone, and quality across scenes - Collaborate closely with the post-production team to align on project goals and creative direction - Maintain color consistency by adjusting exposure, saturation, and balance across shots and sequences - Innovate with creative solutions that strengthen visual storytelling - Keep project files organized and deliver all assets on schedule - Stay current on trends, tools, and techniques that improve grading workflows

Requirements

- Proven colorist experience backed by a strong portfolio - Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and other color grading tools - Prior experience working with US-market projects - Strong foundation in color theory, correction techniques, and grading principles - Familiarity with HDR workflows and platforms such as cinema, streaming, or broadcast - Working knowledge of color spaces, LUTs, and formatting standards - Sharp eye for detail and consistency across scenes

Nice to have

- Experience editing VR footage - Experience with VFX or compositing software such as Adobe After Effects
