Backend Engineer

Role overview Build and maintain backend foundations that support a range of immersive and interactive products. The role spans core infrastructure, data systems, APIs, microservices, and shared frameworks, with work on both existing applications and new services. You’ll collaborate with other engineering teams and technology partners, and help keep technical work clearly documented in a remote team.

Responsibilities - Develop and deploy backend infrastructure, data systems, APIs, microservices, and reusable frameworks. - Improve existing applications, extend APIs, and build services to meet product needs. - Work with technology partners and other engineering teams on backend capabilities. - Help mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge. - Document decisions, changes, and issues so colleagues can act on them.

Requirements - 3–5 years of Node.js development experience. - 2–5 years working with NoSQL databases. - At least 2 years developing GraphQL and REST APIs. - Experience with web application security, including authentication and authorization approaches such as OAuth or JWT. - Working knowledge of Linux, networking, Git workflows, test-driven development, and caching or performance optimization. - Strong English communication skills, including the ability to break technical challenges into tasks and report issues clearly.

Nice to have - A college or graduate degree; experience with database ORMs and data modeling; Kubernetes; and container deployment.
