Senior Solutions Engineer (f/m/d) - Texas, USA
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This is a senior, US-based customer-facing position focused on partnering with engineering and content leaders evaluating a federated content platform. The role splits roughly 70% toward pre-sales technical consulting and 30% toward post-sales architecture guidance for newly closed customers. It is a senior individual-contributor seat that reports into the leader of a combined solutions and support function and helps shape how pre-sales and architecture collaborate as the organization grows.
Responsibilities
- Lead structured technical discovery sessions to map prospects' business goals, existing architecture, and definition of success, then connect those to measurable outcomes. - Design and present solution architectures tailored to each prospect's stack, content operations, and constraints, including data modeling and integration choices. - Build, customize, and deliver demos and web front-end prototypes using modern JavaScript frameworks so prospects see their own story told back to them. - Scope and run structured pilot engagements with agreed success criteria, partnering with field engineers who build hands-on alongside the prospect. - Run technical workshops and deep dives for mixed audiences, from executives to architects to developers to content editors, and own the technical win in late-stage deals including security, scalability, integration, and migration topics. - Carry outcomes and architecture decisions cleanly from sales into onboarding, advise new customers on content schema, localization, frontend, and integration choices, and contribute reusable reference architectures and playbooks.
Requirements
- Five or more years in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, including at least three years in B2B pre-sales for an API-first or developer-focused SaaS product. - Working knowledge of GraphQL and modern web architectures such as React, Next.js, Svelte, or similar, plus familiarity with composable and headless approaches. - Demonstrated consultative style: leading with questions, framing conversations around business outcomes, and articulating value rather than just features. - Hands-on experience scoping and running proofs of concept or pilots with defined, measurable success criteria. - Ability to tailor complex technical concepts to executive, technical, and editorial audiences, plus solid grounding in content strategy and content operations to guide schema decisions. - Comfort working cross-functionally across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering, with a proactive, detail-oriented, and creative problem-solving mindset.
Nice to have
- Exposure to working with forward-deployed or professional-services engineers who build alongside strategic accounts. - Experience feeding structured field insight back into product and engineering roadmaps.
