Role overview This role focuses on building and maintaining the Windows desktop systems behind a PC gaming optimization product, spanning native desktop functionality, Electron integration, and performance-critical work. The position sits within a fast-growing, remote-first engineering team that values autonomy and uses modern .NET tooling. The work directly shapes how gamers experience performance tuning on their machines.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain the desktop application using C# integrated with Electron. - Collaborate with the web team to expose native functionality through a web-view UI layer. - Build reliable Windows features for game detection, process management, system optimization, and background services. - Write clean, maintainable code aligned with industry standards and participate in regular code reviews. - Design and ship new features that improve the end-user experience. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the desktop application. - Profile, measure, and optimize performance-critical code paths using real telemetry. - Partner with the product team to translate new requirements into working software.
Requirements - 5+ years of professional software development experience. - 2+ years building and shipping a consumer desktop application. - Ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality software with only high-level direction. - Strong attention to detail and performance. - Hands-on experience developing Windows desktop applications and modules. - Experience with .NET 10 LTS, Win32 APIs, and P/Invoke. - Familiarity with process management, Windows permissions, and safe system-level change. - Experience with IPC between native or backend processes and web-based UI layers. - Demonstrated ability to profile real performance issues and optimize measured hot paths.
Nice to have - Deep, in-depth knowledge of C#. - Extensive experience with Windows desktop applications and the Win32 API surface.
