Job details
About this role
Role overview Turn an existing web product, interactive map, forecasting services, API, and model context protocol server into a dependable, secure customer platform. This senior role spans product engineering and platform operations, with the goal of helping public-sector and commercial users work with the product without requiring founder involvement in each release or incident.
Responsibilities - Build customer-facing features across the web application, map, API, and protocol server, including scenarios, forecasts, comparisons, exports, and collaboration. - Implement account authentication, permissions, access controls, usage metering, and developer onboarding. - Own production reliability, monitoring, incident response, safe deployment, and performance. - Improve application and data-service architecture, and establish security and compliance foundations for enterprise and government evaluations. - Create internal tools that make data, model, and product releases safer to verify. - Work with early users, turn their needs into product decisions, and document technical plans, operating guides, and incident reviews. - Help define engineering standards and contribute to future hiring.
Requirements - At least six years building production software, with substantial backend or platform ownership. - Experience taking a product capability from user discovery through launch and iteration. - Strong TypeScript or comparable backend skills, plus experience with React-based products. - Experience with PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure, observability, CI/CD, security, and incident response. - Sound architecture judgment in an early-stage environment and clear written communication. - Experience working directly with founders or customers.
Nice to have - Familiarity with geospatial services and systems that serve public records or forecasting data.
Benefits and work setup - Compensation target: $285,000 base salary, 5% variable compensation, and 1.25% equity; final terms depend on experience, location, and the approved offer package.
