Job details
About this role
Role overview
Set product direction for an enterprise data-streaming portfolio built around messaging infrastructure. The role spans strategy and hands-on execution: improving deployment and management, guiding the next generation of the core broker, and balancing customer commitments with investments in cloud-native, multi-tenant capabilities and agent-friendly workflows.
Responsibilities
- Define the portfolio strategy and roadmap, connecting investment choices to adoption, usage, revenue, and customer satisfaction. - Work with customers, sales, and partners to identify integration opportunities and understand how the product fits into broader solutions. - Sequence development of the core broker while managing ongoing release and customer commitments. - Make products easier to provision and operate through APIs and clear specifications, reducing unnecessary setup and infrastructure work. - Instrument products, analyze outcomes, and communicate progress and product value to executives and other stakeholders. - Coordinate across engineering, go-to-market, and customer-facing teams; manage strategic relationships and escalations, and improve processes as the organization scales.
Requirements
- 8–15 years of total experience, including substantial product management or consulting work. - Experience guiding established enterprise infrastructure products with real customer commitments, revenue, and further growth potential. - Deep familiarity with messaging middleware or event-driven systems, such as MQTT, Kafka, Solace, or RabbitMQ, including their performance and reliability trade-offs. - Meaningful experience with operational technology and its connection to IT systems. - Evidence of using qualitative and quantitative data to guide product decisions, managing resources, and influencing senior stakeholders. - Strong communication, customer discovery, risk assessment, and decision-making skills; comfort making difficult prioritization calls. - Eastern US time-zone location is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with edge or self-managed enterprise software, long-term support releases, upgrades, and enterprise procurement. - Product-led growth experience for infrastructure or developer products, and familiarity with distributed systems operations.
