Role overview
Lead hands-on development of patient-facing web experiences and backend services for a digital health platform. This senior engineering role spans frontend interfaces, backend services, external integrations, reliability, and performance, with a strong focus on delivering accurate, dependable experiences that help people manage their health.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable full-stack solutions that meet product needs and improve user experience. - Build, operate, and monitor web applications, backend services, and integrations with external partners. - Work with product, design, operations, data, and engineering teams to deliver features and workflows. - Guide technical decisions, break complex initiatives into executable work, and advocate for sound engineering priorities. - Participate in discovery, prototypes, experiments, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing. - Use product, operational, and user feedback to identify improvements in quality, reliability, performance, and engagement. - Mentor engineers and help raise standards for development practices, tools, and delivery processes.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience building production web products. - Strong full-stack development skills with React/Next.js and Node/TypeScript, or comparable technologies. - Experience delivering scalable, high-quality applications and services in a modern cloud environment. - Familiarity with Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and automated unit and integration testing. - Excellent judgment and communication skills, including the ability to explain tradeoffs and drive work from concept through delivery. - Organized, self-directed approach to managing multiple priorities with limited oversight.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare, another regulated field, privacy-sensitive data, or third-party integrations. - Familiarity with healthcare data standards or compliance requirements such as HIPAA and PHI handling.
