About this role
Role overview Build and operate the infrastructure that supports a multi-tenant platform and dedicated customer environments. The role spans cloud systems, delivery pipelines, databases, and observability, with projects chosen to match team priorities and individual strengths. You will take ownership of substantial infrastructure improvements from problem definition through delivery, helping other engineers ship and operate their work more effectively.
Responsibilities - Improve CI/CD systems for faster, more flexible, and more cost-effective builds and releases. - Automate the setup, updates, and teardown of dedicated environments. - Improve the performance, capacity, and migration processes of production PostgreSQL systems. - Increase visibility into infrastructure spending and identify opportunities to reduce it. - Strengthen workload isolation, container security, and compliance practices. - Develop customer-facing infrastructure capabilities such as private connectivity and custom networking.
Requirements - At least five years building and operating production infrastructure, including on-call work. - Strong Kubernetes operations skills, including understanding scheduling, networking, and failure scenarios. - Solid AWS knowledge, including EKS, RDS, VPC networking, and IAM. - Experience with infrastructure as code; Terraform is preferred. - Ability to read and write application code to modify pipelines, controllers, or services. - Ability to turn loosely defined problems into shippable work, communicate clearly, and write useful design documents and runbooks. - Depth in at least one area: networking, PostgreSQL operations at scale, or deployment systems.
Nice to have - Networking expertise such as VPC design, private connectivity, DNS, TLS, or certificate management. - Database experience with replication, tuning, connection pooling, upgrades, or migrations under load. - Experience owning CI/CD platforms, improving build performance, or managing releases and artifacts. - Familiarity with cloud services and tools such as Redis, DynamoDB, message streaming, TypeScript, Python, Rust, Go, and Datadog.
Benefits and work setup - Salary range: $214,000–$285,000. Placement depends on factors including location, skills, experience, and internal compensation considerations. - Equity, health benefits, and flexible paid time off are offered.
