About this role

Role overview

Build the internal systems that help engineers ship reliable changes quickly, while extending those systems to support AI coding agents. The role covers the developer platform from local environments and build tooling through CI/CD, deployment, measurement, and safe agent integration. It works across engineering teams, with success measured by shipped tools, adoption, and improvements to development workflows.

Responsibilities

- Own the internal developer platform across design, implementation, rollout, operation, and measurement. - Improve monorepo builds, caching, CI pipelines, merge queues, test reliability, and deployment workflows. - Create fast, reproducible development environments for local and cloud use across platforms. - Track measures such as cycle time, review delays, and change failure rates; work with teams to remove bottlenecks. - Build shared context for coding agents, including repository guidance, architecture information, skills, and hooks. - Evaluate and integrate coding tools with the codebase and organizational systems, and establish controls for permissions, secrets, and audit trails. - Drive adoption through useful defaults, documentation, and low-friction workflows.

Requirements

- At least five years in developer productivity, build and release engineering, or internal platforms. - Strong expertise in build systems and CI/CD, including caching, repository tooling, and safe deployment workflows. - Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and SQL; Python is a plus. - Experience with backend systems, APIs, and distributed or asynchronous workflows used across teams. - Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent frameworks, including tool calling, context management, orchestration, and failure handling. - Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, and ability to follow a change from local development through production and observability. - Strong written communication and a platform mindset focused on self-service and adoption.

Benefits and work setup

- The stated annual salary range is $198,750–$265,000; placement depends on factors including location, skills, and experience. - Compensation includes salary and equity, health benefits, and flexible paid time off.
