Proprietary Intelligence Engineer — Industrials
Job details
About this role
Role overview Own production intelligence systems for industrial and supply-chain use cases, from finding valuable data sources to delivering usable signals through APIs and applications. The work spans collection, data engineering, applied machine learning, and production operations, with results intended to support high-stakes decisions about companies, assets, and logistics.
Responsibilities - Build high-volume collectors and integrations for varied sources, including documents, imagery, satellite data, and sensor feeds. - Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and design schemas, indexes, and partitions for data stored in PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, S3, and Snowflake. - Put language models and embeddings into batch and real-time workflows for entity resolution, classification, scoring, and summarization. - Deliver API services and applications using FastAPI, Docker, and Kubernetes, with monitoring and alerting. - Establish data-quality safeguards through explicit error handling, retries, and timely alerts. - Own systems end to end, work directly with institutional customers and technical leadership, and identify new opportunities for useful intelligence products.
Requirements - Strong Python skills, including asynchronous programming, typing, and performance-aware development; relevant tools include Scrapy, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, pandas, and asyncio. - Strong SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge, including window functions, CTEs, query plans, indexing, and partitioning. - Linux and Docker skills, including debugging and deploying production services. - Experience operating high-stakes data pipelines and applying language models or embeddings, with attention to cost, latency, and accuracy trade-offs. - Careful adherence to legal and contractual data-use boundaries.
Benefits and work setup Competitive base salary, with equity considered for suitable candidates; direct contribution attribution and performance rewards; private healthcare; remote flexibility aligned to EU working hours; and regular team offsites with international travel.
