Staff/Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Platform Engineering

Role overview

This is a staff-level cloud platform engineering role combining cloud infrastructure design with site reliability engineering responsibilities. The position focuses on building, scaling, and operating reliable cloud systems that support a large software delivery platform. The role is based in Mountain View or San Francisco, with a disclosed pay range of $200,000 to $250,000 USD.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure across at least one major provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure. - Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable tooling. - Implement SRE practices for reliability, availability, and performance, including monitoring, logging, and alerting. - Perform capacity planning and demand forecasting to keep systems scalable under changing load. - Deploy and operate applications on Kubernetes, using Helm for packaging and lifecycle management. - Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate delivery of applications and infrastructure changes. - Implement security best practices, run audits, and support compliance efforts such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS. - Collaborate with developers, product managers, and operations while mentoring teammates on cloud and SRE practices.

Requirements

- Strong coding background in languages such as Python or Go, with fluency in Git-based version control. - Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes, Helm, and at least one major cloud platform. - Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or comparable systems. - Understanding of security best practices for cloud infrastructure and applications. - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

- Experience with compliance frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS. - Background mentoring engineers and driving cross-team technical initiatives. - Prior work scaling a multi-tenant SaaS platform under heavy load.
