Role overview A senior security architect role focused on Microsoft identity platforms, spanning on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD). The architect leads identity and access management initiatives, designing and implementing secure, scalable identity solutions for enterprise environments. This is a remote position based in the United States.
Responsibilities - Lead evaluation, design, and development of Active Directory and Entra ID technical requirements, solutions, and implementation roadmaps that balance reliability, security, and cost. - Develop and enforce IAM policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. - Maintain and optimize on-premises Active Directory infrastructure, including DNS, Group Policy Objects, and domain controllers. - Implement multi-factor authentication and security best practices across user accounts and devices, and lead complex troubleshooting and incident resolution. - Build integrations using the Microsoft Graph API and develop advanced PowerShell scripts to automate provisioning, reporting, and service configuration. - Translate business requirements into architectural designs and influence the deployment of key infrastructure components across global teams.
Requirements - 10+ years of relevant experience in IT security and IT architecture roles. - 7+ years working with Active Directory architecture, including replication, DNS, site topology, Group Policy, and global catalogs. - 3+ years of experience with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) architecture and design. - 5+ years of experience with identity and access management processes and technologies. - Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and working knowledge of the Microsoft Graph API.
Nice to have - Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate. - Comfort with emerging AI tools to improve problem solving and operational outcomes. - Up to 10% travel.
