Role overview This is a senior consulting seat focused on shipping production MuleSoft integrations for external clients, with AI tooling such as Claude used as a primary development environment rather than as an occasional assist. The role is run async and lightweight, without standups or sprint ceremonies, and involves managing a portfolio of concurrent client engagements from build through user acceptance testing and go-live. It is well suited to a US-based senior engineer who wants strong ownership, fast throughput, and direct client exposure.
Responsibilities - Take client integrations from build through launch, directing AI coding agents, hardening generated output, debugging, testing, and driving work through UAT - Sequence and run a portfolio of concurrent client engagements against real launch dates without daily check-ins or story points - Use AI-assisted development tools as the primary environment for code, debugging, documentation, and status updates - Flag slippage, blockers, and scope issues early and plainly, proposing the path forward and owning the resolution - Apply engineering fundamentals such as CI/CD, MUnit coverage, naming and reuse standards, and secure integration practices to everything that ships, including AI-generated output
Requirements - Deep, recent, senior-level MuleSoft expertise with hands-on delivery in the last two years across Anypoint, DataWeave, CloudHub or Runtime Fabric, and error handling - Working Salesforce knowledge on at least one cloud such as Sales, Service, Experience, Revenue/CPQ, FSC, or Agentforce - A working AI engineering practice using Claude, Cursor, or equivalent tools, with the ability to discuss where agents help and where they break - 3+ years of consulting-grade delivery for external clients, with a deliberate testing strategy and traceable methodology - Strong fundamentals in CI/CD, MUnit, OAuth2, JWT, TLS, and RAML/OAS, plus MuleSoft Certified Developer Level 1 or equivalent demonstrated depth - Clear, proactive written communication and the ability to manage several projects in parallel without being chased for updates
Nice to have - Integration experience spanning Salesforce, AWS, or other SaaS and ERP platforms - Familiarity with event-driven patterns such as Kafka or Pub/Sub - Experience embedding AI or LLM services into integrations for tasks like summarization, document parsing, and intelligent transformation - Location in the Raleigh / Triangle area, though the role is open to US-based remote candidates
