Remote job
Product Engineer (AI / Full-Stack)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Take problems end-to-end on an AI-driven customer research platform, from customer conversations through production to validating real impact. As a founding product engineer in Canada, the role works directly with founders, design, and engineering to rebuild core product areas agent-first across a Rails and TypeScript stack.
Responsibilities - Own a problem from the customer conversation to production and validation, with light, as-required PM support for sizing and prioritization. - Build across the full product stack, including Rails APIs, React and TypeScript frontends, video streaming, realtime voice agents, agentic search, and product analytics. - Spend mornings in customer interviews, transcripts, and product analytics to understand the problem; build throwaway prototypes to pressure-test approaches before committing. - Translate rough technical plans into agent-driven implementation, carefully evaluating output and owning whatever ships. - Dig into data to validate the problem and confirm the solution actually resolves it, delivering work with UI and UX polish and durable system primitives.
Requirements - Strong full-stack experience as an expert in both API design and the frontend that sits on top; Rails and TypeScript experience is welcome but not strictly required. - Proven track record of building and running production systems, shipping features live and maintaining them long enough to see what works. - Daily fluency with an agentic coding harness such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, with strong opinions about setup and workflow. - Experience shipping LLM-powered features, or concrete knowledge of what it takes to run them in production. - Examples of deciding what to build and defending UX decisions with a clear point of view. - Clear written communication suited to remote, async-heavy collaboration, with a self-directed, unblocking mindset.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time employment with proper benefits and a generous salary in CAD, set by an internal leveling rubric rather than negotiation. - Remote anywhere in Canada, generally working PST hours with flexibility. - 4 weeks of paid time off, an annual team offsite, a new MacBook Pro, ample AI tool credits, and freedom to adopt the latest technologies and vendors.
