Role overview This is a senior pre-sales engineering role on a Majors Solutions Engineering team that supports a fast-growing cloud observability platform. The position partners closely with sales to educate prospects and existing customers, run technical evaluations, and act as a primary feedback loop back into product management and engineering. It is a remote, customer-facing role for someone who enjoys translating technical depth into business outcomes.
Responsibilities - Partner with account executives to articulate the platform's value proposition, vision, and strategy during prospect and customer engagements - Own the technical side of customer evaluations and help close opportunities through demos, hands-on enablement, presentations, and competitive positioning - Deliver product and technical presentations to both prospective and existing customers - Proactively share customer feedback, product gaps, and competitive intelligence with internal product and engineering teams - Drive product conversations rooted in real customer problems and use cases - Contribute to enablement assets such as documentation, blog posts, videos, and internal or public knowledge base articles
Requirements - 5+ years of technical pre-sales experience, ideally with open source technologies or in the metrics, monitoring, or observability space - Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical value to varied audiences - Solid technical foundation and the judgment to operate in a fast-moving, startup-style environment with evolving responsibilities - Ability to collaborate effectively across a remote-first, globally distributed team - A problem-solving mindset and genuine enthusiasm for digging into technical challenges with customers
Nice to have - Prior post-sales or engineering experience, or a coding bootcamp background combined with strong customer-facing skills - Familiarity with observability stacks, telemetry pipelines, or related open source ecosystems
