Senior Engineering Manager, Grafana Frontend | Ireland | Remote

Role overview Lead two distributed engineering squads responsible for the frontend platform and navigation in an observability product. The role combines people leadership, product discovery, and delivery ownership, with a focus on helping users move through the product and giving engineering teams a strong foundation for building reliable experiences.

Responsibilities - Coach and develop engineers, set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and address performance concerns. - Plan hiring and team capacity in line with product priorities and longer-term needs. - Gather input from customers, community members, and internal users to shape squad roadmaps. - Work with Product, Design, and engineering leaders to set priorities, resolve dependencies, and balance customer needs with operational work and long-term investment. - Guide work from discovery through rollout, set milestones, surface risks, and track outcomes. - Improve planning and delivery practices, including practical use of AI and automation to reduce repetitive work and support research, coordination, and follow-through.

Requirements - Experience leading and developing engineering teams, including setting expectations and managing performance. - Ability to guide teams through discovery, prioritization, delivery, and measurement. - Experience working across product, design, and engineering to resolve trade-offs and dependencies. - Strong communication and planning skills for work across distributed teams. - Sound judgment in applying AI or automation while maintaining code review and quality standards.
