Senior Platform Engineer

Role overview

Operate and improve critical enterprise applications hosted on Google Cloud while providing a dependable platform for software delivery teams. The position focuses on infrastructure as code, automated deployment, cloud scalability, developer productivity, reliability engineering, and operational response for distributed systems.

Responsibilities

- Architect and maintain scalable, resilient applications and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. - Establish infrastructure-as-code practices by developing and maintaining Terraform configurations and related automation. - Design and operate end-to-end CI/CD pipelines that improve deployment speed, repeatability, and safety. - Lead incident response, perform root-cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations to support service availability. - Work with engineering teams on performance optimization, capacity planning, and cloud resource rightsizing. - Build internal developer platforms and tools that streamline engineering workflows and improve team productivity.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - At least 5 years working with public cloud environments, including Kubernetes, VPC networking, and Cloud Run. - Strong experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and SaltStack. - At least 5 years leading software development lifecycle practices, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting enterprise applications. - Strong Linux systems knowledge, containerization experience, autonomous task workflows, and the ability to establish security guardrails. - At least 2 years of programming experience in Python, Java, or a comparable language, plus familiarity with monitoring and logging platforms.

Nice to have

Experience designing AI or large-language-model solutions, extensive Google Cloud or multi-cloud administration, application performance optimization across standalone and distributed systems, and strong cross-team communication skills.

Benefits and work setup

The listed U.S. base salary range is $140,000–$200,800, with additional bonus and benefits. The role does not offer immigration sponsorship. Compensation varies by work location.
