About this role
Role overview Own complex database, warehouse, and integration work from investigation and design through production deployment and ongoing support. The role focuses on SQL Server engineering and data movement across systems, while maintaining existing Microsoft based environments and contributing to a gradual move toward Azure services.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions, and scheduled jobs. - Design and support warehouse schemas, data models, and flows; improve performance, scalability, and maintainability. - Build and troubleshoot ETL and integration processes involving SSIS, APIs, files, feeds, and scheduled transfers. - Investigate production failures, data quality problems, reporting discrepancies, and performance issues through root cause and resolution. - Plan data validation, dependency reviews, deployment and rollback steps, and monitoring with retry and recovery processes. - Document data flows, systems, jobs, reports, and support procedures; coordinate delivery status and risks with partner teams.
Requirements - Strong Microsoft SQL Server and advanced T-SQL experience, including stored procedures, views, functions, and SQL Agent jobs. - Experience designing data warehouses, enterprise data models, and dimensional schemas. - Background supporting production data warehouses and resolving database, integration, and reporting incidents. - Experience with SSIS or comparable ETL tools, data pipeline design, and integrations across APIs, files, and feeds. - Skills in query optimization, data reconciliation, lineage and dependency analysis, testing, deployment, and change management. - Familiarity with Azure data services where applicable.
Nice to have - Experience with complex operational, financial, or regulatory reporting, multi-system integrations, large production SQL environments, or warehouse modernization.
