Role overview A senior architect role focused on Cisco ThousandEyes, designing digital experience monitoring solutions for enterprise clients and serving as a Level 3+ technical escalation point. The position pairs pre-sales scoping with hands-on architecture across routing, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and observability integrations, delivered through a global, cross-time-zone managed services model.

Responsibilities - Lead discovery workshops and architecture assessments to design ThousandEyes solutions across Cloud, Enterprise, and Endpoint Agent placement, test strategy, and alerting. - Act as the senior escalation point for complex BGP, routing, SD-WAN, and platform-level issues, engaging vendor TAC as needed. - Define reference architectures, agent deployment standards, dashboards, and integration patterns with ITSM, SIEM, webhooks, and APIs. - Partner with sales and presales teams on engagement scoping, Statements of Work, sizing, and stakeholder presentations. - Lead onboarding and migrations, including legacy monitoring rationalization and large-scale agent rollouts. - Drive automation using ThousandEyes APIs, Python, and Terraform, and run proof-of-concept efforts on emerging capabilities.

Requirements - 5+ years in network engineering or architecture, with 3+ years designing and leading enterprise-scale ThousandEyes deployments. - Deep expertise across ThousandEyes test types (Network, DNS, HTTP Server, Page Load, Voice, BGP) and agent types (Cloud, Enterprise, Endpoint). - Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP or HTTPS, Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela and Meraki), and cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, GCP Interconnect). - Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, the ThousandEyes API, and Terraform. - CCNP or CCIE (or equivalent advanced networking certification), with ThousandEyes certification strongly preferred. - Experience with ITSM and SIEM integrations (ServiceNow, Splunk) plus consulting-level communication with C-level and IT leadership audiences.

Nice to have - Hands-on integration of ThousandEyes telemetry into broader observability ecosystems. - Track record sizing engagements, building SOWs with sales and presales, and running Quarterly Business Reviews with senior stakeholders. - Mentoring Level 1 and Level 2 engineers across distributed teams.
