1161 - Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Role overview A senior full-stack engineering role for a security- and AI-forward financial product, working across a typewritten monorepo that includes a Next.js 16 web app and API, an Expo mobile app, and a Cloudflare Worker. The position owns production-grade systems spanning PostgreSQL data modeling, webhook infrastructure, and an LLM-driven insights layer over user financial information. It is suited to an English-fluent engineer based in or near New York who thrives on ownership and ambiguity.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain a typewritten monorepo including Next.js 16 web/API, Expo mobile app, and Cloudflare Worker components. - Evolve a PostgreSQL + Prisma data model with dozens of models and a long migration history, shared across apps. - Operate background systems including webhook handlers, queued inbound-message batching, and scheduled jobs. - Strengthen security-sensitive paths involving encrypted bank tokens, chat content, per-user data scoping, and cross-platform authentication. - Extend the AI layer supporting LLM tool-calling over user financial data, long-term memory, and proactive insights. - Review AI-generated code, including your own, with a skeptical and quality-driven eye.

Requirements - 6+ years as a software engineer with 3+ years shipping production TypeScript/Node backends. - Experience at a company that moved money or handled bank or card data, such as Plaid, Stripe Treasury, Unit, card issuing, or lending. - Deep PostgreSQL expertise including live-data-safe migrations, indexes, transactions, and query plans. - Hands-on async systems experience covering idempotency, retries, webhook deduplication, and partial-failure jobs. - Security-first instincts around PII, encryption at rest, auth tokens, and least privilege. - Solo production ownership including on-call rotation, error tracking, and root-cause analyses. - Daily experience using AI coding assistants with thoughtful views on their limitations.

Nice to have - Plaid in production, LLM tool-calling and evaluation, Next.js App Router with React Server Components, SMS or TCPA compliance, Stripe subscription billing, and Expo or React Native experience.
