About this role

Role overview

Own and improve the cloud foundation supporting data, analytics, and AI/ML workloads in a HIPAA-compliant AWS environment. This remote infrastructure engineering role combines platform administration, cloud architecture, migration leadership, automation, security, and operational readiness. The position is open to candidates residing in Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, or Colorado.

Responsibilities

- Administer the AWS landing zone for data, analytics, and AI/ML workloads, including access, reliability, scalability, and compliance controls. - Operate and maintain Tableau infrastructure in AWS through patching, upgrades, monitoring, and performance improvements. - Design and implement cloud solutions, translating requirements into secure, supportable architectures and helping teams prepare for ongoing operations. - Lead or support cloud migrations by developing migration strategies and applying Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and other automation practices. - Improve availability, disaster recovery, data protection, monitoring, and cost efficiency across cloud, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. - Partner with security, suppliers, architects, and engineering teams while researching new technologies, reducing operational toil, and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred. - At least five years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, information technology, or a related discipline. - AWS certifications and substantial experience with cloud migrations, infrastructure support, and securing cloud platforms with security teams. - Practical knowledge of DevOps or DevSecOps, Agile delivery, CI/CD platforms, Infrastructure as Code, source control, versioning, and code review practices. - Experience designing highly available systems across availability zones or regions, including familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Windows, Linux, databases, identity management, networking, and AWS CloudWatch. - Knowledge of encryption, key management, cloud security, HIPAA-compliant environments, and cloud spending analysis.
