Role overview A leadership role responsible for building, managing, and supporting a globally distributed engineering team that delivers core repository and platform capabilities for a DevSecOps orchestration platform. The position combines people leadership, technical mentorship, and delivery execution in a remote-first, asynchronous environment, with the team owning capabilities from command-line version control through web-based code exploration.
Responsibilities - Build, manage, and mentor a globally distributed engineering team, fostering an environment where engineers can thrive and advance their careers. - Hire, onboard, and develop engineers while upholding high standards for quality, accountability, and psychological safety. - Partner with product management, product design, and cross-functional engineering teams to align technical direction, shape roadmaps, and deliver against commitments. - Guide engineers on system architecture, code quality, performance, security, and maintainability across frontend and backend disciplines. - Manage and refine agile, remote, and asynchronous workflows, maintaining delivery cadence and addressing blockers, backlogs, or delayed execution early. - Encourage integration of AI capabilities and modern developer tooling into daily workflows to improve productivity and innovation. - Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide continuous actionable feedback, and support career progression through coaching. - Maintain visibility into operational health and reliability, participating in availability and incident management rotations as needed.
Requirements - Experience managing engineering teams, providing architectural guidance and technical mentorship, and building team accountability. - Background in enterprise software development, distributed systems, and software delivery pipelines. - Experience bringing together stakeholders across product, design, engineering, and infrastructure to make timely technical decisions. - Track record of establishing effective engineering processes, managing delivery execution, and moving work forward amid ambiguity. - Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to remote-first, asynchronous, globally distributed collaboration. - Commitment to building inclusive, psychologically safe team cultures where engineers can contribute and raise standards. - Experience using AI-assisted tools and modern software workflows to improve team velocity and efficiency.
