Role overview A senior engineering role on the lending side of a real estate technology platform that connects lenders with borrowers in construction financing. The position sits on a team based in Argentina and emphasizes technical leadership, end-to-end solution delivery, and mentoring within small, cross-functional groups.
Responsibilities - Lead delivery of complex, multi-component features and initiatives aligned with team objectives, working through ambiguity to keep projects on track - Evaluate proposed technical approaches, weighing trade-offs and recommending priorities that fit product strategy - Drive large-scale refactors and system upgrades, estimating scope and managing risks with stakeholders - Document system architecture and processes clearly so other teams can understand and build on them - Mentor and delegate work to grow junior engineers while remaining hands-on as a player-coach - Collaborate across functions to ship outcomes that improve the lender and borrower experience
Requirements - Strong backend engineering background, including scalable API design, service design, and database modeling - Hands-on expertise with both relational and non-relational databases and performance tuning - Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis - Production experience designing and operating systems on AWS - Demonstrated track record enabling engineering teams and contributing to business outcomes
Nice to have - Customer-facing React experience, ideally with TypeScript - Production backend API work supporting end-user features - Full-stack comfort, or strong front-end skills paired with motivation to expand across the stack - Experience contributing to refactoring initiatives or legacy codebases - Background in a growing or early-stage company - A player-coach mindset that pairs delivery with mentoring
