Role overview Join the engineering team focused on basketball as a Senior Full Stack Engineer, owning the design and delivery of web and backend features that power live scoring, statistics, and post-game experiences. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys shaping how a sport is represented in software and partnering closely with product, design, and other engineering groups.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and improve backend services and APIs that support scorekeeping, stats tracking, and post-game features. - Extend existing endpoints and systems to enable new product capabilities, including post-game editing workflows. - Develop web experiences that make box scores and statistics accessible to coaches, families, and fans. - Lead technical design and delivery for assigned projects, making architectural decisions that align with existing systems. - Partner with mobile engineers to deliver backend capabilities supporting iOS and Android applications. - Write well-tested, maintainable code while improving the reliability and performance of owned services. - Mentor peers through code reviews and contribute shared patterns and tools that help the broader engineering group work effectively.
Requirements - Experience delivering backend services and APIs in production with strong software engineering fundamentals. - Track record building applications with TypeScript and Node.js, plus web development experience with React. - Background extending existing systems and writing scalable, performant code, with particular depth on the backend. - Ability to independently design technical solutions and lead projects from requirements through release. - Experience collaborating across product, design, and engineering teams, including mentoring peers and contributing to technical decisions. - Interest in sports and the products that support them.
Nice to have - Familiarity with basketball, scorekeeping, or sports statistics.
