Role overview Lead a cross-functional engineering team building the core experience for covering youth basketball games on a remote-first product used by coaches, families, and volunteers. The Coverage team owns scorekeeping, live video capture, and coaching tools that depend on fast, reliable in-game workflows. The role partners closely with Product and Design to make game coverage fast, reliable, and low-friction.
Responsibilities - Coach and develop engineers, setting expectations and providing consistent, growth-oriented feedback - Define delivery goals in partnership with cross-functional leaders, navigate trade-offs, and surface risks early - Hold a high bar for engineering craft and reliability, especially in live, in-game contexts where failures are highly visible - Hire and onboard engineers who align with team values, fit the skill profile, and bring AI fluency - Contribute to engineering culture and organizational effectiveness beyond the immediate team
Requirements - At least four years leading engineering teams and six years of professional software development experience - Technical depth in one or more areas of a mobile and backend stack, with breadth to engage in design and architecture reviews - Strong product instincts and ability to align with Product and Design partners on priorities - Active interest in developing AI skills for yourself and your team
