Role overview A senior engineering role focused on building AI-powered developer tooling, agentic workflows, and shared infrastructure that accelerate software development across a sports technology company. As an early member of a newly forming enablement team, the engineer will shape technical direction, partner with product engineering groups, and take solutions from discovery through production rollout. The position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager, AI Enablement.
Responsibilities - Identify high-impact opportunities to improve software development with AI by partnering with engineering teams and understanding their workflows. - Design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI tooling and agentic workflows, owning projects from discovery through iteration. - Develop AI-assisted engineering workflows covering code review, testing and validation, issue and crash triage, and development automation. - Build and evolve shared AI infrastructure supporting model access, vendor integrations, observability, and cost controls. - Create evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and feedback loops to measure reliability, adoption, and impact on engineering productivity. - Develop reusable skills, plugins, and patterns that support teams across backend, web, iOS, and Android. - Drive adoption through hands-on partnership, documentation, and training, partnering with Security, Platform, Quality Engineering, Product, and Design on guardrails and modernization.
Requirements - 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend and full-stack fundamentals and a track record of operating complex production systems. - Hands-on experience building, deploying, and supporting AI-powered systems or agentic workflows in a professional environment, including post-launch improvement. - Practical depth in LLMs, tool use, retrieval, evaluations, and incorporating AI into your own development workflow. - Ability to turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions, making sound technical tradeoffs independently from concept to adoption. - Clear written and verbal communication with experience translating user needs into technical solutions and helping teams adopt new tools.
Nice to have - Background in developer tooling, developer experience, or platform enablement. - Direct iOS or Android experience and comfort learning across technology stacks. - Experience measuring AI system quality through evaluations, observability, and productivity outcomes.
