Role overview
Own customer-facing product work across a mature SaaS application, from design and implementation through deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing support. The role suits an experienced full-stack developer who can improve established systems carefully while helping guide technical decisions for new capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, review, and maintain features used by customers. - Develop Node.js and Express services, APIs, integrations, routes, and background jobs using modern JavaScript and ES modules. - Build accessible, responsive interfaces with HTML, CSS, browser-side JavaScript, Vue 3, Pug, Bootstrap, and Sass. - Design and query MongoDB data models with attention to consistency, reliability, and performance. - Maintain integrations spanning payments, email, ecommerce, CRM, analytics, AI, infrastructure, OAuth, and webhooks. - Investigate production issues, strengthen security and observability, test high-risk behavior, and document technical decisions.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional web development experience, including substantial production JavaScript and Node.js work. - Strong knowledge of Express or a comparable server-side framework and practical HTTP fundamentals. - Experience designing MongoDB schemas and diagnosing query, consistency, and performance issues. - Confidence with responsive layouts, HTML, CSS, and client-side JavaScript. - Experience with automated testing, Git-based code review, production debugging, and incremental delivery. - Sound judgment regarding security, privacy, maintainability, and SaaS delivery trade-offs. - Clear English communication and the ability to work independently in a remote team. - Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with Vue 3, Pug, Bootstrap, or Sass. - Familiarity with AWS, Cloudflare, Railway, Stripe, or third-party integrations. - Experience with generative AI services, data-heavy product features, or long-lived SaaS applications.
