Staff Software Engineer

Role overview This is a senior, individual-contributor engineering position focused on architecting and scaling the backend and data platforms that support consumer experiences, clinical workflows, and partner integrations. The role is a technical leadership position rather than a people-management track, with the expectation of driving cross-team initiatives, setting architectural direction, and raising engineering quality across the organization. Responsibilities - Design and evolve backend and data systems that power consumer-facing applications, clinical workflows, and external partner integrations. - Own architecture decisions for critical services, balancing scalability, security, and long-term maintainability. - Partner with product, data, and engineering leadership to align technical direction with business and clinical requirements. - Lead cross-team technical initiatives that extend beyond a single team's scope. - Mentor and influence engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and shared technical standards. - Help elevate engineering quality, observability, and operational practices organization-wide.

Requirements - Significant experience as a senior or staff-level engineer building production backend and data systems at scale. - Deep expertise in designing distributed, resilient, and secure services. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects across multiple teams without direct authority. - Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with product and data counterparts. - Track record of raising engineering quality through architecture, reviews, and standards. - Comfort working in environments with healthcare, regulatory, or enterprise-grade requirements.
