About this role
Role overview This senior role partners closely with sales and customer success teams to convert high-priority customer commitments into durable, production-ready product capabilities for a fleet management software platform. The position sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market, focused on unblocking strategic accounts and expanding what the platform can confidently deliver at enterprise scale. It is a remote, async-friendly opportunity well suited to engineers who thrive in ambiguous, high-visibility environments.
Responsibilities - Translate urgent customer and deal context into clear requirements, scoped plans, and shippable product work - Drive initiatives end-to-end: clarify the problem, align stakeholders, deliver iteratively, and ensure production readiness and long-term supportability - Collaborate with non-engineering partners to surface constraints, timelines, and workflow nuances, then communicate tradeoffs and risks proactively - Partner with product, design, and engineering peers to make pragmatic scope decisions and ship in increments - Build solutions that meet internal standards for testing, observability, maintainability, and documentation - Influence outcomes on key accounts and help close some of the largest strategic deals on the platform
Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails - 2+ years of experience with React - Demonstrated track record building and shipping production web applications with attention to quality and maintainability - Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders, translating needs into technical plans, and managing expectations - Ability to decompose complex requests into milestones and deliver incrementally - Strong written communication skills and comfort operating in a remote, async-friendly environment
Nice to have - Experience working on a large-scale Ruby on Rails application - Background building customer-facing platform or product capabilities that support enterprise accounts - Prior partnership with go-to-market teams on time-sensitive delivery commitments
Benefits and work setup - Multiple health and dental plan options, with 100% employee coverage and 50% family coverage - Vision insurance plus FSA and HSA options - Incentive stock options and a 401(k) match of 4% - Four weeks of PTO, increasing after the second year, plus 12 company holidays and two floating holidays - Parental leave of 16 weeks paid for birthing parents and 4 weeks paid for non-birthing parents - Short- and long-term disability coverage, with short-term fully paid - Community service, professional development, and quarterly wellbeing funds - Quarterly business expense stipend, Mac laptop, and new-hire equipment stipend - Fully remote across the United States, Canada, or Mexico
