Role overview This role sits inside a Cloud Platform Engineering group building a modern SaaS platform on top of hybrid-cloud infrastructure. The work emphasizes an automation-first mindset, building shared tooling and abstractions that let product engineering teams ship cloud-native software at scale. It blends platform engineering, SRE practices, and developer experience, supporting both new platform capabilities and live production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities - Build automation, common abstractions, and tooling for CI/CD and progressive delivery of cloud-native applications. - Enable development teams with a cloud-native developer workflow, including training and toolchains that automate software delivery with scale and high availability in mind. - Design and build secure, highly scalable, enterprise-grade platform tools and services. - Document and explain architecture decisions and patterns, clearly to peers and stakeholders. - Work closely with product managers, architects, testers, and development teams across the organization. - Troubleshoot and support the cloud platform in production, taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
Requirements - Seven or more years of professional DevOps or production operations experience. - Five or more years delivering cloud-native applications in production. - Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins. - Deep knowledge of public cloud platforms, ideally with GCP and Azure or AWS alongside it. - Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and IAM. - Expert-level command of Helm, Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform, and SRE or DevOps practices. - Strong infrastructure-as-code skills and a track record of building robust platforms through automation. - Development skills in one or more languages such as Python, Go, Terraform HCL, or Java. - Advanced Linux systems and runtimes knowledge.
Nice to have - Background designing CI/CD and test automation pipelines for progressive delivery. - Comfort owning mission-critical software end-to-end through development and deployment. - Ability to prioritize independently while collaborating effectively in an agile environment.
