Role overview
A senior delivery leadership role orchestrating end-to-end software release management for a cloud software organization that ships to production on a regular cadence. The position partners with engineering, product, operations, customer support, and senior leadership to ensure releases land on time, with quality, and with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities
- Define and run release schedules that align with business priorities and deadlines. - Coordinate development, QA, operations, and support teams across the release pipeline and certify each rollout. - Own the full release lifecycle from planning through post-release validation. - Prioritize release contents with product management and engineering based on business objectives and customer impact. - Proactively surface risks and bottlenecks and lead mitigation to keep deliveries on track. - Serve as the central point of contact for stakeholders, communicating progress, blockers, and risks at every level. - Track KPIs such as release frequency, deployment success, and post-release defect rates, and drive measurable improvements. - Steward change management, version control, configuration management, and tooling (e.g., Jira, GitLab, feature flagging platforms).
Requirements
- Significant experience managing multiple software releases in parallel. - Expertise applying Agile, Scrum, or comparable methodologies to plan and execute releases. - Track record of spotting and resolving risks early, backed by strong analytical judgment. - Ability to stay calm and solution-oriented under pressure with minimal guidance. - Excellent communication skills for translating technical detail to non-technical stakeholders. - Skill in managing expectations, negotiating timelines, and aligning diverse parties on shared outcomes. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
