A device intelligence company specializing in online fraud detection is hiring a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to shape the data backbone powering its identification platform. The role focuses on building scalable cloud data warehouse solutions, reliable ELT pipelines, and developer-facing data tools that enable analytics and machine learning across the business. It is a fully remote, globally distributed position emphasizing ownership, cross-functional partnership, and engineering rigor.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, high-performance cloud data warehouse solutions that support analytics and operational use cases. - Develop and maintain reliable, well-documented data pipelines and ELT processes, ensuring data quality and consistency. - Tune and optimize warehouse performance through partitioning, indexing, query optimization, and ongoing cost and speed balancing. - Partner with data analysts and scientists to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets and machine learning features. - Troubleshoot, monitor, and refine warehouse infrastructure while promoting a data-driven culture through shared best practices. - Contribute to internal developer-facing data tools that improve how teams across the company consume data.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud data warehouses (AWS, GCP, or similar). - Hands-on expertise with dbt or comparable data modeling and transformation tools. - Strong SQL skills and familiarity with modern columnar warehouses such as ClickHouse, Databricks, BigQuery, or Snowflake. - Experience orchestrating pipelines with tools like Prefect or Airflow. - Solid software engineering practices: version control, code reviews, testing, and automation. - Comfort working independently in ambiguous environments, with strong English communication for a global remote team.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Apache Superset, Sigma, Tableau, or Looker. - Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and a DevOps mindset. - Scripting and automation experience in Bash, Python, or Go.
