About this role
Role overview
Build and operate the infrastructure that supports a growing cybersecurity platform across hosted and customer-managed environments. This senior role spans production Kubernetes, deployment tooling, reliability, security, and incident response, with work across bare-metal infrastructure, public clouds, regulated environments, and on-premises installations. The team also uses AI agents in engineering workflows, with engineers responsible for reviewing their output and improving the surrounding tools and safeguards.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate production Kubernetes clusters on bare-metal systems and public cloud providers. - Expand service deployments into additional regions and infrastructure providers. - Maintain deployment systems such as Helm charts, Ansible automation, CI/CD pipelines, and an on-premises virtual appliance. - Improve service availability through monitoring, observability, capacity planning, and incident response. - Apply security practices across infrastructure, including access, secrets, network exposure, and operational risk. - Improve repositories, documentation, and guardrails so teams and AI agents can contribute safely; document decisions and carry work from problem discovery through delivery.
Requirements - At least five years in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or cloud engineering. - Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes in production. - Strong Ansible and Helm skills, with solid Linux and networking fundamentals. - Experience with a major cloud provider, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. - A security-conscious approach and willingness to write scripts and tooling, primarily in Python. - Professional English and comfort working autonomously in a remote-first, asynchronous team; able to critically review AI-generated work.
Nice to have - Experience with bare-metal or on-premises infrastructure, including networking, storage, and cluster lifecycle management. - Terraform experience, especially for cloud infrastructure. - Infrastructure security experience, such as hardening or software supply chain security.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first work with equipment and additional remote-work and development support. - Competitive compensation with equity, 25 days of baseline paid time off, and paid volunteer days. - Two annual in-person gatherings. - Shared on-call rotation: approximately one daytime and one night shift every two weeks, plus a weekend about every six weeks; night and weekend shifts are compensated.
