Role overview A full-stack engineering role on a 0-to-1 team building agent-driven software for assurance and audit practitioners. The position involves designing long-horizon agents that automate SOX control testing, producing defensible audit deliverables, and shaping the product's technical foundation from the ground floor. The team is remote-first with hubs in San Francisco and is hiring across multiple levels.
Responsibilities - Design and build agent-driven experiences for SOX control testing, balancing automation with auditor oversight - Own complex end-to-end workstreams across the full stack - Improve reliability, repeatability, performance, and observability of long agentic runs - Transform agent output into structured audit workpapers adapting to firm-specific templates - Ship code from day one and ramp into full ownership of significant product areas - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and SOX subject matter experts on domain problems - Help shape technical direction for agentic systems, AI tooling, and engineering best practices
Requirements - Strong full-stack engineering skills with daily hands-on coding - Production experience building LLM-backed features against real users - Comfort working from ambiguous specifications in fast-moving environments - High ownership mindset and ability to define problems rather than inherit specs - Collaborative approach across product, design, and domain expert functions - Willingness to develop applied AI skills including writing evaluations and using LLM observability tools
Nice to have - Startup experience as a founder or early-stage engineer - Track record shipping 0-to-1 projects that gained traction - Experience working directly with customers and being present when they use the product - Background in internal audit, SOX, financial services, accounting, or compliance - Familiarity with TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Python, or Temporal - Experience with document processing, PDF or Excel manipulation, or model evaluation frameworks
