Senior Software Engineer

Role overview A senior backend engineering role focused on building and scaling the services that power a high-traffic, global live-entertainment marketplace used by millions of people every month. The position is remote-friendly across Korea and centers on designing reliable, high-performance backends that handle large request volumes across multiple regions. Responsibilities - Design and ship end-to-end backend features within an agile squad, taking ownership of core services and their evolution. - Build event-driven, high-concurrency systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. - Contribute to architectural discussions, propose improvements across services and APIs, and help evolve the platform's overall design. - Collaborate closely with product, data, and other engineering teams to enhance the platform and the developer experience. - Lead by example through code reviews, design sessions, and mentoring, and drive best practices in observability, testing, and system design. - Participate in an onboarding ramp-up, gradually progressing from small improvements to leading strategic initiatives within a domain.

Requirements - Strong track record of building maintainable, scalable code with test-driven development and solid design patterns. - Deep knowledge of relational databases and SQL, comfortable pushing them to their limits. - Hands-on experience with event-streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Experience handling services with high concurrency and high request volume. - Proficiency with profiling and monitoring tools like Datadog or comparable observability platforms. - Professional working proficiency in business English.

Nice to have - Backend experience with Python (Django or FastAPI), PostgreSQL, and Redis. - Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments.
