Software Engineering Manager (REMOTE)

Role overview A remote Engineering Manager role leading one or more teams responsible for a flagship mobile sports application. The position blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, partnering closely with product and design to deliver high-quality customer-facing software at scale. Responsibilities - Lead and grow engineering teams that ship reliable, well-engineered software following modern best practices - Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and run daily scrum activities to keep delivery on track - Clear or escalate blockers and drive predictable execution through clear objectives, data, and KPIs - Partner with product and design to build an ambitious yet achievable roadmap and communicate it to executives and stakeholders - Continuously improve engineering practices, simplify or extend existing solutions, and provide clear status updates to leadership - Help recruit, assess, and onboard talented engineers from diverse backgrounds

Requirements - 1+ years managing an engineering team and 4+ years building highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems - Broad knowledge of design approaches, with the ability to break down architecture for multiple contributing teams - Strong scoping, prioritization, and triage skills, including effective negotiation with product management - Excellent communication skills when presenting complex technical topics to engineers, executives, and non-technical audiences - Familiarity with Agile and Scrum delivery, plus solid analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities - Team-first mindset, comfort working cross-functionally in a large enterprise, and a tolerance for shifting priorities in a hyper-growth setting

Nice to have - Prior experience in a start-up environment - Strong mobile software engineering background - Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform

Benefits and work setup - Remote with occasional travel to offices or events - Full-time role with base, bonus, and benefits; posted salary range is approximately $144,000 to $235,000 USD depending on location
