Senior Engineering Manager (REMOTE)

Role overview Senior Engineering Manager leading one or more engineering teams that build and operate a consumer-facing mobile application at scale. The role sits at the intersection of hands-on technical leadership, people development, and cross-functional delivery for a high-traffic sports platform. It is a remote position with occasional travel for team and company events.

Responsibilities - Lead and grow engineering teams spanning mobile and backend, setting clear objectives and using KPIs to drive predictable delivery. - Partner with product and design to shape an ambitious but achievable roadmap and present it to executive stakeholders. - Run daily scrums, clarify requirements, negotiate priorities, and ship software that meets quality and architectural standards. - Champion adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows across tooling, documentation, testing, and code review. - Recruit, assess, and onboard engineers while coaching existing team members and aligning stakeholders across the organization. - Stay engaged in architecture discussions, workflow reviews, and quality practices without micromanaging implementation details.

Requirements - Three or more years managing one or more engineering teams and four or more years building highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems. - Broad knowledge of design approaches with the ability to break down architecture for parallel team execution. - Strong project scoping, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills, including presenting to executive audiences. - Working familiarity with Agile delivery and Scrum methodology. - Comfort operating in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments where priorities shift quickly. - Team-first mindset with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have - Startup experience and a strong mobile engineering background. - Hands-on work with Kotlin Multiplatform or Compose Multiplatform. - Interest in sports collectibles, trading cards, or live commerce.

Benefits and work setup - Remote role with occasional travel for conferences, meetings, and team events. - Base salary range of $163,000 to $265,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility for full-time employees.
