Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack (FES)

Role overview

This senior engineering position focuses on designing and operating the shared platform services that underpin a large-scale consumer product ecosystem spanning commerce, digital collectibles, and sports betting experiences. The work centers on backend services built in Go, with meaningful contributions to TypeScript and React front ends, where engineers own significant technical surface area end to end. It is a hands-on, full-stack role with a backend center of gravity, well suited to someone who enjoys setting technical direction, mentoring peers, and shipping reliable, high-throughput systems.

Responsibilities

- Architect and ship production-grade Go services and APIs, owning the full lifecycle from design and testing through documentation and ongoing operations - Drive the technical design of medium-to-large features and systems, weighing trade-offs, documenting decisions, and carrying work through to completion - Break down ambiguous problems into well-scoped, deliverable work for yourself and other engineers on the team - Lead and participate in design and architecture reviews, and set the standard in code reviews for correctness, readability, testability, and operational safety - Mentor and onboard engineers, serving as a technical point of contact for the systems you own - Take part in the on-call rotation, drive incident response, and lead blameless postmortems that produce concrete fixes - Partner with product, design, and other stakeholders to shape the roadmap, and act on SLOs and operational excellence metrics

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems - Strong demonstrated proficiency in Go, including concurrency patterns, error handling, testing, profiling, and performance tuning - Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services and APIs (REST and/or gRPC) within distributed, microservices environments - Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with hands-on experience using React or another modern front-end framework - Solid grounding in relational and/or NoSQL data stores, caching layers, and event streaming systems such as Kafka, SQS, or SNS - Cloud infrastructure experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including containers, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code - Strong operational instincts around observability, monitoring, alerting, and debugging production issues under pressure - Track record of leading multi-contributor projects to delivery on time without sacrificing quality, within Agile and Scrum workflows

Nice to have

- Experience building or integrating identity and access management systems, covering authentication, authorization, SSO, and account lifecycle - Familiarity with identity standards and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, MFA, and session or token lifecycle management - Hands-on work with identity providers or CIAM platforms like Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock, AWS Cognito, or Ping, or with building an in-house identity platform - Background in account security, fraud prevention, PII handling, or regulatory-driven engineering such as KYC, GDPR, or CCPA - Experience designing systems for high-traffic consumer products with spiky, event-driven load - Platform or shared-services work where consumers are other engineering teams - Startup environment experience, or domain background in sports, commerce, media, or another consumer-scale industry

Benefits and work setup

The published salary range for this role is $121,600 to $200,000 USD, plus eligibility for a bonus, with full-time employment status. Some interview and onboarding stages may include in-person components, and full-time, non-seasonal hires may take part in a multi-day cultural immersion in New York City, with specific travel and participation details confirmed based on the role and location.
