Director of Engineering - iCasino (FBG)

Role overview

The Director of Engineering for iCasino Experiences leads the engineering organization responsible for customer-facing online casino applications and the content-management and personalization systems behind them. This is a strategic and operational leadership role overseeing roughly 20 engineers across the United States and United Kingdom, with accountability for delivery, technical direction, reliability, talent development, and continuous improvement of the customer experience.

The role requires a customer-focused leader who can translate product priorities into execution, raise engineering standards, and resolve ambiguous cross-team problems in a distributed, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a distributed engineering organization spanning multiple countries, including engineering managers and senior individual contributors. - Set the operating rhythm for delivery, maintain transparent capacity planning, manage dependencies, and surface or resolve execution risks. - Own the quality and reliability standards for customer-facing applications, including production readiness, observability, test automation, incident response, and post-incident improvement. - Partner with Product, Design, and technical program leadership to shape roadmaps, scope iterative releases, and convert experience goals into delivery plans. - Hire, coach, and retain engineering talent while designing team structures and development strategies aligned with business needs. - Represent the domain in cross-organization architecture, delivery, and people initiatives, and improve engineering practices beyond the immediate team.

Requirements

- At least ten years of software engineering experience, including four or more years leading teams through managers. - Proven ownership of large-scale consumer-facing products, particularly mobile experiences where speed, polish, and reliability are critical. - A record of predictable delivery across multiple teams while maintaining strong quality standards and managing risk proactively. - Experience building and scaling engineering organizations, including hiring, organizational design, coaching, and fair performance management. - Deep operational discipline covering observability, on-call structures, incident management, production reliability, and continuous improvement. - Strong technical judgment across modern client and backend architectures, with the ability to guide architecture and resolve cross-team risks without daily hands-on coding.

Nice to have

Experience in online gaming or another highly regulated industry, including certification and compliance processes, is preferred. Background leading high-end mobile applications, content-management or personalization platforms, cross-organization migrations or automation programs, and zero-to-market products is also valuable.
