About this role
Role overview Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI to improve how a cybersecurity organization detects and investigates incidents. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Detection and Response Engineering and Security Operations Center teams to ship iterative wins that sharpen alert quality, accelerate workflows, and turn noisy telemetry into clear capabilities.
Responsibilities - Continuously improve alert quality, analyst workflow efficiency, and detection coverage through analytics, machine learning, and Gen AI. - Partner across operations, engineering, and service delivery to deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning capabilities in production. - Translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations that inform business decisions. - Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and measurable improvement. - Maintain and enhance existing models while scoping and delivering new data science initiatives. - Contribute to external thought leadership through blog posts and conference speaking.
Requirements - Three or more years of data science experience building models, analyzing data, and communicating results to stakeholders. - Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in AI and machine learning. - Deep proficiency with Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) and SQL for model development and analysis. - Solid grasp of statistics, including distributions, hypothesis testing, and probability. - Experience with common data science and visualization frameworks such as scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, and plotly. - Understanding of data engineering practices and cloud deployment best practices. - Ability to communicate technical data science ideas clearly to non-specialist audiences.
Nice to have - Background applying machine learning or Gen AI specifically to security, detection, or incident response problems.
Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $118,400 to $171,700 USD, with bonus eligibility and equity; typical offers targeted between $135,000 and $160,000 based on experience. - Unlimited paid time off, equity for all employees, and up to 24 weeks of parental leave. - Work location flexibility with a remote-friendly setup; hiring limited to candidates authorized to work in the United States, with no current visa sponsorship.
