Python Backend Engineer

Role overview Create production-ready Python services for APIs, automation, data-facing applications, and integrations. The role combines implementation with design and operational ownership: services should be testable, understandable to teammates, and dependable beyond an initial prototype or script.

Responsibilities - Develop backend services and APIs in Python, with clear data models and service boundaries. - Connect products to third-party APIs and internal systems. - Build background jobs, workflows, and automation where useful. - Test services and improve their reliability, performance, and observability. - Work with data, AI, frontend, and DevOps colleagues on product needs and technical planning. - Document interfaces and operational behavior, and help establish Python practices that support maintainable systems.

Requirements - Strong experience using Python in production systems. - Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, or a comparable framework. - Solid understanding of APIs, asynchronous patterns, and databases. - Familiarity with testing and packaging, plus good Git and collaboration habits. - Security-aware development practices. - Ability to explain technical trade-offs and work across product and engineering contexts.

Nice to have Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery or RQ, Docker, AWS, or services related to data and AI.
