Blockchain Engineer

Role overview

Design and build distributed-ledger features for problems that require shared trust, verifiable records, or decentralized state. The work spans smart contracts and connected application services, with careful attention to security, operating costs, and whether blockchain is a suitable architectural choice.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement smart contracts and blockchain integrations. - Assess whether a distributed ledger is appropriate for each problem and explain the trade-offs. - Build on-chain and off-chain components, integrating wallets, indexing, and backend services as needed. - Test and review contract code for common security vulnerabilities. - Document trust assumptions, risks, and operational procedures. - Collaborate with product, backend, and security teams; monitor deployments and help respond to chain-related incidents.

Requirements

- Practical experience developing smart contracts and blockchain applications. - Strong security awareness for on-chain systems and experience testing or reviewing contract code. - Solid backend engineering fundamentals and familiarity with relevant cryptography basics. - Ability to explain technical and architectural trade-offs to non-crypto stakeholders. - Clear documentation habits and judgment about when blockchain is unnecessary.

Nice to have

- Experience with Solidity, EVM networks, auditing practices, indexing tools, wallet user experience, or secure key management.
