Application Security Engineer

Role overview

Help engineering teams build secure software throughout its development lifecycle. You will work alongside developers on threat modeling, design reviews, code analysis, and practical fixes, embedding security into day-to-day engineering rather than leaving it until release.

Responsibilities - Review application designs and code for security risks, including authentication, authorization, and data handling. - Conduct threat modeling and application security assessments. - Give developers actionable guidance to remediate vulnerabilities. - Improve secure coding standards, checklists, and development practices. - Support controls for dependencies, secrets, and CI pipelines. - Assess third-party integrations and help prepare teams to respond to application security incidents.

Requirements - Strong understanding of web and API security and common vulnerability types. - Experience applying secure development practices and relevant OWASP guidance. - Ability to assess code and architecture for security concerns. - Clear communication with engineers and a practical approach to remediation. - Familiarity with CI/CD security controls and risk-based prioritization.

Nice to have

Experience with SAST or DAST, dependency scanning, cloud security fundamentals, identity systems, or secure SDLC programs.
