Role overview
A network engineering role within a global network team, focused initially on rolling out software upgrades across the Arista estate to mitigate security vulnerabilities. The position supports a varied slate of enterprise network projects, from refreshes and new technology deployments to Wi-Fi design and SDWAN rollouts, with a mix of independent initiative and collaborative delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute software upgrades across the Arista estate to address security vulnerabilities, and assist with broader network projects such as network refreshes, new technology deployments, Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting, SDWAN deployments, and Cisco Catalyst Center rollouts. - Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching across enterprise environments using protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, and VRRP, and contribute to Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting efforts. - Generate bills of materials and translate designs into implementation plans, while updating existing network documentation to reflect changes. - Mentor junior team members and collaborate across the global network function to deliver projects on time. - Work outside regular business hours when required by the client, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Arista products, including Spine and Leaf architecture, in an enterprise setting, plus working knowledge of CloudVision. - 5+ years of experience with Layer 2 switching protocols and 5+ years with Layer 3 routing protocols. - Strong Wi-Fi experience spanning troubleshooting and design. - Exposure to SDN and SDWAN deployments, with experience working across multiple networking vendors including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista. - Ability to generate bills of materials and turn designs into implementation, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational habits, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to have
- Arista certifications and broader networking certifications such as CCNP. - Experience operating at enterprise scale across global environments and fluency in spoken and written English.
